We are relocating our classes from Dunboyne to The Community Centre in Ratoath in a few weeks. Our first class in this new beautiful purpose built dance studio and theatre will be on Saturday 13th May at the following times: Teeny Tots – 12-1pm Juniors –12-2pm Intermediates/Seniors –1-3pm I guarantee you will not be disappointed.

Singing exams will take place on Sunday 14th May in Navan. Aideen will confirm your allocated time or call the office to confirm. All students should be at the exam centre at
least 30 minutes before their exam. We wish Aideen and all her students the very best of luck. _____________________________________________________________________ LAMDA ACTING EXAMINATION -
All centres will be given the option to do the LAMDA (London Academy of Music And Dramatic Arts) Acting examination this term. We will run the following acting exam classes to prepare students for individual exams. Navan – Saturday 1-2pm Starts 29th April x 10 weeks - €60 per student plus exam fee (€25-50 depending on your grade).
Dunboyne & Kells – Saturday/Thursday – drama class on Thursday and Saturdays in Dunboyne will be exam related. All students will prepare for examinations whether they wish to be examined or not. Exam fees will apply for only students wishing to sit exams. All acting examinations will take place in Navan on Monday 3rd July 06. PERFORMING ARTS SUMMER CAMPS 2006
Due to popular demand, we are running 3 weeks of summer camp this year. They will run from 10am-2pm Monday to Thursday and 10-3pm on Friday. They will consist of Hip Hop, Street Jazz, Breakdance, Tap, Modern, Contemporary, Ballet, Puppetry, Musical Theatre, Stage Combat, Sight reading, Stage Craft, Improv, Mask making, Costume design, Make Up, Singing, Song writing, Story telling through music, Rhythm, Music theory, Instrumentation and much more. Application forms will be available very soon. Academy members €110, Non Members €125. July 10th –14th Week 1 – Ratoath Community Centre July 17th – 21st Week 2 - Virginia/ Kells / Moylagh – Venue to be confirmed July 24th – 28th Week 3 - Navan (Venue to be confirmed) BREAKDANCE COURSE FOR 6 WEEKS
You’ve seen it on the Nike adverts and MTV so now its time to learn the moves. Mick will teach fancy footwork, freezes and more. As an all Ireland Breakdance Champion and currently a dancer with The Dublin Breakers, these classes are not to be missed. Suitable for beginners and intermediate, boys and girls Age 8+. Grainne O’ Reilly (senior student) did us proud in the recent selections for the Rose of Tralee 06. The audience was amazed at such a talented dancer and got well entertained. We would also like to mention that Grainne recently auditioned for 3 of Ireland’s top dance colleges and has been offered a place in all 3. 100% record isn’t bad! We wish Grainne the very best of luck whichever dance college she chooses for September 06. _________________________________________________________________________
BELFAST COMMUNITY CIRCUS COMES TO THE ACADEMY
Would you like to learn the diablo, juggling, stilt walking, unicycle, plate spinning, tight wire walking, devil sticks and lots of acrobatics? We have the pleasure of a circus performance workshop with 4 professional and qualified circus performers on Sunday 18th
June at 12 and 2.30pm. There are 2 workshops each lasting 2 hours to choose from. Cost €20 per child. Suitable for boys and girls from age 8+. Advance booking is advised, as places are limited. Venue will be in Navan and confirmed soon. Please note all equipment will be provided.

We are currently planning our next production and it looks like very very exciting indeed. If any parents would like to help out in anyway, please let Sheila and you will be the first to get updated! NEW CLASSES STARTING IN VIRGINIA Due to demand, we are starting new dance, drama and singing classes in Virginia on Wednesday 3rd May. If you know anyone who may be interested in these classes, please tell them to contact the office immediately as class places are filling quickly. CONGRATULATION TO OUR “TEENY TOT” MODELS John Harkin and Niamh Cole both from Kells were photographed recently with Gay Byrne to launch Daffodil Day in Ireland for the Irish Cancer Society. They got to interview the well know Irish celebrity and all for a good cause.

They are really looking forward to getting to know all the students so feel free to chat to them at any stage. WELCOME KEITH GROVES – NEW DANCE TEACHER FOR NAVAN, DUNBOYNE AND RATOATH. Hails from Dublin, having trained in Dance in Inchicore College and furthering his training in Urdang Academy in London with Musical Theatre. Did you know that Keith is also a trained aerial gymnast and has performed for the Prince of Saudia Arabia in the Al Janriyadh Festival. WELCOME CORMAC WALSH – DRAMA COACH FOR ALL NAVAN STUDENTS Hails from Dublin. Trained at Trinity College and can often be seen directing his Central Character students at the Samuel Beckett Theatre where he is also a visiting lecturer. Did you know that Cormac was once a freelance video camera operator and loves to paint. Check out his website on www.cormacart.com. WELCOME HELEN GIBSON – DRAMA COACH FOR ALL KELLS STUDENTS Hails from Bournville and is currently in her final year at NUI Maynooth studying for a MA in Drama therapy. Helen is no stranger to the stage and has appeared in many professional in Ireland and UK. She has been teaching children for over 10 years and did you know she is also a qualified wood carver. WELCOME NEAL PEARSONS– DRAMA COACH FOR ALL DUNBOYNE AND RATOATH STUDENTS. Neal hails from Cork and has performed in over 20 professional productions. He currently works for the Gaiety School of Acting and Westside Stage School as well as our academy. Did you know that he was in “Bouncers” which toured Ireland to the following locations Dublin, Galway, Sligo, Ennis, Tralee, Waterford and Newbridge.
