The Angkor Hospital For Children’s Satellite Clinic is a pilot project in partnership with the Cambodian Government Referral Hospital in Sotnikum and the government healthcare system including the health centers. The Satellite Clinic is located in Sotnikum district, in a rural setting 35 km from Siem Reap. It serves a population of 30,000 people and it is a referral center for 23 health centers, some as far as 80km away.The project aim is to provide high quality compassionate care to children in the rural areas and to increase access to healthcare, which was previously limited. It also provides education and training as a teaching institution and part of Angkor Hospital For Children. It provides a service that partners directly with the government healthcare system in order to improve quality in the government referral hospital and local health centers and thus improving health care not only for children but for adults and the community as a whole.
