Annalise Ellis, MHA
Assistant Director of Academic Affairs
Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine
Hempstead, NY 11549
Dear Ms. Ellis:
I am interested in representing the Department of Pediatrics on the School of Medicine Faculty Council. I
have been a physician in the North Shore LIJ Health System since 1986, initially as a resident and then as
a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics.
I have served on numerous academic committees at Cohen Children’s Medical Center and Long Island
Jewish Medical Center during those years. I have been Associate Residency Program Director in
Pediatrics since 1993. I have been the Pediatric Clerkship Site Director for the Albert Einstein School of
Medicine since 2003. I have been the Clerkship Site Director in Pediatrics for the Hofstra University
Physician Assistant Program since 2004.
Given my background in academics and in the education of both students and residents, I feel that I am
uniquely qualified to join the School of Medicine Faculty Council. Please find my CV attached for your
consideration.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Robert Katz MD
