Guided sightseeing tour to visit the Historical Center: Paseo de la Republica, San
Martin Square, Main Square, the Government Palace, The Cathedral (the main
church), the Archbishop Palace, the City Hall and old streets with colonial mansions
and Moorish balconies.
We will visit the convent of San Francisco, the greatest monumental complex of
Colonial Art in America, and its Basilica with 21 altars, Convent of cloister, Clementine
and Capitular Rooms, Chorus and Library of the monks, the Profundis Museum that
exhibits 11 paints of Rubens, the sacristy with paintings of Zurbaran and Rivera, Gran
Patio garnished with Seville’s tiles from the XVI century, Moorish archs and finally the
catacombs (underground crypts from the colonial times). San Francisco is a cultural
patrimony for the world.
The tour will continue through the most traditional residential areas of Lima, San Isidro
Olivar, with olive trees brought from Spain in the XVIlth century. Pre-Inca worshippers
of Huallamarca and Pucllana, the Central Park of Miraflores Parque, and the Love
Park. The tour ends with a spectacular view of the Pacific Ocean.

This day trip offers the best combination of the different attractions in Lima in its three
historical periods: pre-Hispanic, Colonial and Contemporary. In Lima, there were
several different pre-Columbian cultures, which dating back thousands of years.
Lima was part of the Inca Empire until was founded by the Spaniard Francisco Pizarro
on January 18th, 1535. During our guided tour we will travel along its millenary history.
ANCESTRAL LIMA: At the Huaca Pucllana, a Ceremonial and Administrative Centre
built in the IV century A.C. and considered by the Incas a Sacred Town. We will learn
about the life and rituals of its ancient inhabitants and admire its typical pyramidal
building, very characteristic of sacred pre-Hispanic edifications that were worshipped in
the coast of Peru.
COLONIAL LIMA: The Viceroyalty of Peru was the richest and most powerful Spanish
Viceroyalty in America and Lima was its capital. The highlights of its Historical Center
are the architecture and the urban design of the city, found in old streets filled with
colonial houses adorned with Moorish-style balconies. Our trip includes the Promenade

of the Republic, San Martin Square, and Main Square, with their different buildings:
Government Palace, Archbishop Palace, Cathedral, and the City Hall.
We will visit one of its most beautiful buildings, the Museum of the Banco Central de
Reserva
*, where we can admire Peru’s treasures: a fine selection of objects made in
gold, ceramics and textiles of its different pre-Columbian cultures, ranging since their

The tour will continue at the monumental Convent of Saint Francisco, which displays
the biggest collection of religious art in America. We will admire the Chorus and Library
of the Monks, the Sacristy with its collection of Zurbaran and Rivera paintings. The Big
Patio of the Main Cloister, adorned with Sevilla tiles from the XVIth century, its beautiful
Moorish arches and its subterranean crypts known as The Catacombs, where you will
feel the presence of Lima's colonial past.

GOLD MUSEUM. Ancient Peruvians were master metalworkers. The “cire perdue” or
lost wax process, known across the Orient and lost in the West until the Renaissance
was the most frequent technique used by master ancient Peruvian goldsmiths and
silversmiths.
On our tour at the Gold Museum, visitors will appreciate a dazzling collection of gold
artifacts from various pre-Columbian civilizations, some more than 3,000 years old.
Metal pieces and jewelry of incalculable value in gold, silver and precious stones used
by the Incas—the children of the Sun God and monarchs of the vast Inca Empire—are
shown in this collection. Five hundred years ago, the gold of Peru attracted many
European adventurers who conquered the Inca Empire and founded the Viceroyalty of
Peru under the Spanish Crown.
Peru’s Gold Museum also houses a valuable collection of old and modern weapons
that ranks among the best in the world. The halls in this section show the Arms of the
World Collection of armors, uniforms and various ancient war artifacts and weapons
from various time periods around the world, some dating back to 1300 B.C.



RAFAEL LARCO HERRERA MUSEUM – Mornings or afternoons. Duration: 3
hours.
This museum is housed in a XVIIIth century colonial mansion and is considered to be
the largest and most complete private collection of Pre-Columbian art in the world. The
famous collections of ceramics, metal objects, gold and silver articles, textiles, stones,
wooden and bone objects and the famous Erotic pottery cover every phase of
Peruvian civilization and are exhibited by using excellent museological and didactic
techniques.
NACIONAL MUSEUM – Mornings or afternoons. Duration: 3 houres. Closed on

In this museum the visitors get an overall view of the development of different pre-
Hispanic tendencies (from 14,000 B.C to 1532 A.C) throughout the exhibited ceramic
works, reproductions on scale, models, dioramas, etc. It has four floors of exhibitions.

Quinta house, ancient residence of the viceroys and liberators. Is considered the most

silverwork of pre-Columbian cultures are kept there.

different cultures of the North Coast of Perú, it shown in the new room of the Museo
oro del Perú. The visit to this exhibition last around forty-five minutes and collects the
vision, values and use of different artifacts in gold, silver, and copper. At the end of this
journey, you will witness the treasure protected in the Sican Room, where you find an
extended quantity of gold pieces like ceremonial vases, pectoral and ceremonial knives

Room. Its masterpieces are considered worldwide icons, after being exhibited in the

Guided tour to the sanctuary of Pachacamac´s God, Universe creator and divinity
venerated by the Ande Americans. It is a holy place since the beginnings of the
Christian Era, where millions of pilgrims gave their offers and ask the Oracle for advice.
Pachacamac has a lot of pyramidal temples and places built by different pre-Columbian
cultures and by the Incas. Temples of : Pachacamac, Dios del Sol (sun god), Las
Mujeres Escogidas (Chosen Women), and Las Virgenes del Sol (Sun Virgins).
Pachacamac also has a museum that exhibits the idol of Pachacamac´s God. All the
place is condered holy and it is a part of the worlds´s mystic axis. The tour allows you

Swamps, by travelling through the South Panamerica highway.

A unique archaeological and mystical experience: The Oracle, Temples, Palaces,
Myths and Legends.
We start our tour with a panoramic view of the Pucllana temple built in the 4th century
A.D., an ancestral and ceremonial site dedicated to the local divinities.
PACHACAMAC: Guided tour of the splendid and vast archaeological citadel of
Pachacamac. The temple of the deity Pachacamac, believed to be the creator of the
universe and a divinity adored by old Andean civilizations. A sacred and ceremonial
site dating back to the beginnings of Christianity where, thousands of pilgrims
converged to pay tribute and consult the Pachacamac oracle, who they believed could
see the past, the future and people’s fate.
The site comprises pyramidal temples and enclosures built by successive pre-
Columbian civilizations and by the Incas. Highlights include the Temple of
Pachacamac, the Sun God shrine, and the Palace of the Chosen Women or Virgins of
the Sun. At the site museum there is an idol of the deity, Pachacamac, which couldn’t
be seen by the profane, and was reserved for the high priests who kept, revered and
interpreted the divine oracle in the old times. A sacred site, the temple was considered
to be part of the planet’s mystical axis.
BARRANCO AND VILLA MARSHLANDS: After a visit to Barranco, a neighborhood
both traditional and bohemian, and its well-known Bridge of Sighs, we will tour the
beaches along the Green Coast and the Friar’s Leap ledge over the ocean, the
Ecological Reserve at the Villa Marshlands, with spectacular views of the Pacific
Ocean along the South Pan-American Highway.

Guided visit to the City of Caral, located at 182 kilometers North of Lima in the Supe
Valley. Caral is considered as the oldest city in America, almost as ancient as Egypt,
Mesopotamia, India and China. The City is formed by a group of edifications that allow
us to witness the great scientific, technological and artistic advances its people
achieved; an amazing process of development that took place under a total isolation in
opposition to the cultural exchange of the societies of the old continent.

PALOMINO ISLANDS – 4 HOURS – DAILY 9:30 AM AND 02:00 PM
Once on board of our Cruise ship, which is properly equipped for long sailing trips, we
will begin our excursion.
THE CAMOTAL
Once part of the old port-city of El Callao, currently covered by the relentless waters of
the Ocean, as a result of the 1746 Earthquake. On low-tide days, you may observe
some remains in this place.
SAN LORENZO ISLAND
Four kilometers off-shore the El Callao bay, it is 8 km long by 2,5 km wide. Once the
place of religious centers in pre-Columbian times, it became during the Colony a bone
yard for seamen, pirates and corsairs. Later it was turned into an appealing research
place for men of science, including the great English scientist Charles Darwin.
Currently made a military area, you'll be able to have a panoramic view of the island as
we sail past.
FRONTON ISLAND
About 7 km off-shore, it sticks out of the seas as a huge rock. You'll se there the
remains of the eponymous old Penitentiary, besides listening to some of its countless
stories and anecdotes.
CAVINZAS ISLANDS
Group of islands and small islands with plenty of natural caves and caverns; it is the
last guano-harvesting site. Now, they are a natural paradise for seabirds such as
pelicans, Peruvian boobies, guanays, red-legged cormorants, and a variety of gulls.
They are also inhabited by Humboldt penguins, which may be occasionally seen.
PALOMINO ISLANDS
Important group of islands; which nature seems to have deliberately turned into habitat
and refuge for sea lions, as these huge, frolicsome, friendly animals thrives in these
rocky Islands, with plenty of thrilling natural caves and caverns. In fact, if you are
prepared, you may take a bath and a picture with sea lions in the background.
